Jon can write?

Jon loves to write. Scribble more like it. My bro got him a Thomas & Friends aquadoodle set when my mom came back from his place some time ago. That was the most "canggih" toy he had at that time and he can doodle for hours. He loves to see people draw as well. Maybe because he can't do it (draw and write) properly. But it really got him "hooked" to drawing. At the same time we emphasized to him that he can only draw on the mat (so that he does not draw on the walls).

When the mat was wearing out (can't really see the water marks already), Hubby got him a set of colour pencils. Then I found some crayola crayon at ToysRUs and got Jon some Crayola Rainbow Twistables Crayons. It was such a wonderful invention. The crayons are placed inside a clear plastic and to get the crayons out, just twist. It won't dirty Jon's hands but it is a bit slim though. It is non-toxic (safe for babies). And its quite tough too. Jon will throw them around and they don't break easily. Not long ago, I got Jon a set of Stabilo Jumbo Colour Pencils. Jon just loves them because they are so easy to handle. It is really so suitable for small hands. But I try to encourage Jon to use different shapes and sizes colour pencils. This is because kids learn to get use to things very fast and I don't want him to get use to only 1 type of colour pencils. He only draw on papers: newspapers, magazines, books and everything that is made of paper. Hahahaha.

Jon loves to ask us to write for him. Especially ABCs. He knows (can recite) his ABC till Z. Now he knows his phonics as well. But after attending school and maybe his has better control of his hands, he starts to write without pestering us to write for him. This is what he did last night...
(Jon wrote "M" and "H")
I was watching TV and he was busy doing his "work". And when I looked at him, I was very surprised. Maybe it was just some scribbling that happens to be "M" and "H". So I asked what is that? He said, "M... H", pointing at "M" and "H". Tonite he wrote "A". I'll post the picture later. I was paranoid with his speech capabilities a while ago. I guess kids grow at different rate and that I can't push him to do something he is not prepared to do. All we parents can do is to create a condusive environment for them to grow (at their own rate) and nurture them to our best ability.
