Transition

I observed that Jon is going through a transition that I might mistaken it for the Terrible Two's syndrome.
  • Sometimes, he doesn't like people touching his things (toys, books).
  • Like I mentioned in previous post, he doesn't like people to hold his hand (to be led la... hmm... leadership qualities? kekeke... now I sound so kiasu)
  • Doesn't like to be shout at or scolded (I normally raise my voice to firmly state my instruction... menurut perintah ok?)
  • Love to explore (touch everything he sees even though when you say "No")
If we didn't not follow either of the above, he will burst out into tears... and there was one time, he was almost out of breath. I was so scared that he will get a panic attack which I experienced once because I cried too much (now you know where he gets his crying-cum-drama from).

Apart from that, he is starting to follow what we do, what we say, what the cartoon characters do and what the cartoon characters say. Its funny to see him mumbling to himself (trying to follow what the cartoon character) but he has a lot to improve speech-wise. Now, he is able to name a lot of objects (which sometimes surprises us) and the teacher in school gave me a very positive feedback on his progress. The other day, when I picked him up from school, as soon as he enter the car,

Jon: Monky...
Me: Yes... (still calling me monky eh)
Jon: Kah-wai, kah-wai (pointing at the school)
Me: Yes... kah-wei ah... (wondering whether its a friend's name, or he wants to kahwin)

Must ask the teacher whether there is a kid by the name of Kah-Wai in school or not.
I've come to a conclusion that he might not be going through a TT stage but trying to be independent instead i.e. realising that he is an individual and he can do things by himself. So now, we are trying to understand him better. No more scolding him unless it is necessary. Translated into: telling him off nice and explaining to him what he did wrong. But the disciplining will still take place when needed.
