Little Conquerer

Someone is conquering the TV with his favourite VCDs. I bought Jon a lot of VCDs as he was growing up. Cartoons and educational ones. He simply loves them all (which made mummy very happy cos he gets to learn and I don't waste $$). I try to suit the contents of the VCDs to his age and his development level. Because I believe that different kids develop at different rate and I fear that if he finds the contents too boring or too advanced, he might reject them.

I gave him a lot of Barney (the older version with younger kids) when he was very young. They were very entertaininig with lots of simple actions, songs and dancing. Bumble Bee is very interative with kids simply because the "actors" are kids too. Then, he has his Mickey Mouse just because he likes Mickey Mouse Clubhouse programs. Recently, he is beginning to show signs of interest for Brainy Baby. Enough said of his VCD collections.

Now to the TV. The only time Hubby is able to catch up with his TV programs is during the weekends. And kids being kids, Jon would want to watch his "shows" too. Sometimes I can hear both of them fighting over the Astro channels. Guess who wins all the time? Nowadays, Jon wants to watch his shows day and night and sometimes midnight too. Aiyoo... not when I'm watching my favourite drama series mah. I tried telling him, he make dunno (or maybe really dunno la). I tried to sign him, he make dunno too. Then I try distracting him with colouring or doodling or reading his books. Sometimes it works, sometimes I just ignore him (hehehe... so mean) and sometimes he gets what he wants (especially when he has not reached his VCD time quota).

This little conquerer can cause a big storm at home.
