A so-so holiday
Jon is having a fever now. It started yesterday. It wasn't easy for me. I was tired from our trip back to Hubby's hometown. With lotsa work waiting for me to complete and tons of cleaning to do when we got back, Jon's whines was a pain to my ears. I know that he must have felt really bad to wanting me hold him and sit beside him all the time. But darling, I have to figure out what to cook for you since I did not prepare anything for lunch (he was suppose to be at the nursery). I suspect that he might have a throat infection. Maybe he was kinda tired after all the fun he has with his aunts and the journey too during last weekend.
(Family lunch in restaurant)
Doc just gave some antibiotics, cough medicine and paracetamol. After 1 day of medication, Jon is feeling much better now. At least, he finished his lunch, play with his toys as I was sitting in the living room watching Ratatouile. Yup, I only manage to catch this show as I was a bit sceptical about a rat being a chef. I "operated" on a few of them during my Sixth Forms and I can still remember the rat-ty smell. So, rat and chef don't go down my stomach very well. But... I must say, I enjoyed the show very much. Must remember not to judge a book by its cover. A nice and warm story.
After that, I was having a migraine (not because of the rat... hahaha)... argh to think what to have for a late lunch. I had a chicken drumstick defrosted in the fridge (meant for Jon's soup but gave him pork meat porridge instead). So, started marinating the drumstick (claypot chicken style), cut some "lap-cheong", wash the rice and dump everything in. I wish I had more time marinating the chicken, but we were kinda hungry. Steam the whole thing and ta da.... steam chicken and lap cheong rice. Blanch some french beans cos the dish is too meat-y for me. All in 30 mins.
