Current progress
Must record down Jon's current progress la, else I won't be able to recall... signs of getting old. Jon is about 2 years and 10 months. Since he has shown a bit of progress after his cousins visit, I thought I'll note it down here.
1. He started calling me "Mummy, mummy" (pronounce as Mahhhmeeee, Mahhhmeeee)
It sounds a bit manja but I like this most la. Of course Daddy also get "Daddy, daddy". Great improvement because previously he was calling me "Ma-kee". Clearly influenced by his elder cousin.
2. We still let him wear diapers when he sleeps at night although he is diaper free during day time (inclusive of nap time). We were advised by a doctor to let Jon go diaper free even when we bring him out but I am too lazy to attend to his request for toilet visits or "accidents"... whoops.
3. He knows how to buckle himself up in his car seat. But sometimes, we do let him seat without the car seat in Hubby's car (the car seat is usually in my car) but we will put on the lap belt for him. He knows that he has to wear seat belt whenever he is in the car and we will only unbuckle him when the car stops. A habit he got from sitting in baby car seats since birth. The first thing he will say when he gets into the car "seat belt, seat belt". We will put on the lap belt for him in Hubby's car. So, it is kinda easy for him to buckle himself up. I know... not advisable. Might be looking for a simply booster seat to put in Hubby's car since Shida is looking for one too. Can go booster seat hunting with her.
4. He is able to ask some questions in full sentence. I think he got this from his cartoons like "Where did it go?", "Oh no, what happened?" or "What did I do?". Kinda preset questions. Sometimes he'll play Q&A himself. He'll be asking himself something that end with "... but where?". And then answers the question "There it is!". It good to see him talking or trying to talk.
5. When I get really angry (Jon is sensitive to know when I'm angry or sad), he'll come and kiss me on the lips. I used to kiss him a lot but lately he finds it "geli" if I try to kiss him on his lips.
6. Jon loves books. More than his other toys. Some of the antics that he'll be doing when he gets hold of the books that he likes: sit in the floor and start reading... loudly and run around the store when we tried to catch him. But this works to our advantage when we need him to sit still. Just pass him a book, better still, his favourite book, and he'll sit quietly reading his book while we do our groceries or have our dinner.
Sorry, that's all I can think for now. Need to sit down and write it down.
