A morning outing

A backdated post. My mom had to get her visa done so after getting all the papers finalised, set up the appointment, paid the whatever fees needed and pack up all the things I needed for the outing, off we go to the embassy!

I had to bring Jon along cos Hubby was in another town for work. And since my mom's appointment was at 8.50 am, we had to leave very early else we won't be able to reach on time. I packed food, books, stroller and everything I think I will need to entertain Jon in the car while waiting. We left about 6.30 am. Had a slow and peaceful drive to KL. Traffic started to build up but still manageable. After dropping my mom off at about 8.10 am, we headed to KLCC. I was hoping and praying that something would be open for breakfast since surely not the retail stores. Parking was a breeze inside KLCC. Was kinda eerie at first but there were quite a number of people going in for work and a few "pak guards". After parking the car, inquired from a passer-by hurrying to clock in for work maybe, if there are any shops open for breakfast. He was not sure. Oh well, since I'm here... "redah ajer la". Took a lift up and manage to get out near the pond area. I know this area well... there are a lot of eateries. Most of the eateries ARE open for breakfast! I head to Dome (hehehe...they have the nicest vanilla latte) and found out that they are open as early as 8 am!

Jon sat quietly in the stroller until we reached Dome. Well, he behaved himself and I was glad.

The trip and the test

The trip:
Hubby need to go back to his hometown to fetch his mother to KL (cos she needs to attend to some family matters) and at the same time, send his car to the family-mechanic there. Got a major problem and a repair like that could cost twice as much here in KL. So, what am I going to do when Hubby is not around. Most of the sales that I wanted to go to only starts this weekend, lazy to go out without Hubby (a bit tiring to shop and look after Jon at the same time), my "pard-ner-in-crime" is out of town enjoying herself on Malaysia's beautiful beaches. So, I decided to join Hubby and brought Jon along so that his kong-kong (grandpa) can play with him for awhile.

The test:
I prepared Jon on this trip a day ahead by telling him that we are going back to kong-kong house tomorrow. I asked him to be a good boy, sleep early and wake up early. All he responded was "kong-kong". It was a good start. Jon's speech still needs a lot of improvement. But I can sense his excitement. Maybe because he gets to be spoilt rotten whenever he goes back.

That night, I thought I would have problems getting him go to sleep early. Again, I reminded him that he needs to sleep early if he wants to wake up early to go to kong-kong's house. The next minute, that boy who was still rolling around and playing with his pillow was quiet and sound asleep. Magic magic!

The next morning, we woke up very early to get ready and he got up by himself! Wah... even Hubby was impressed. I was trying to test on Jon's understanding on my words, instructions and what is happening around him. It was quite positive.

So, overall it was a good trip albeit the super hot glazing sunny day.
