Jon's 1st day at school
It was an OK day today. OK for 1st day at school. We (grandma and I) woke him up at about 8am. Got him ready, then off to school. The older kids are there already. I wanted to be there earlier just to let him have more time to settle down. He was hiding behind me for awhile. He always need some time to warm up and get settled in a new place. Good thing he didn't cry.
When class finally started, he sat on the chair... only for awhile. Grandma was there, "just to be around", in case he freak out or something. Then he ran around, taking other kid's toys. The teacher tried to instruct him to do something. But as usual, he does it his way. Once in awhile he did follow orders. Most of the time, not. Hahahaha. The teacher reassured me that it is normal for kids his age. 2 years and 2 months old. Thank god other kids didn't screamed or cried after he took their toys. There are plenty to go around anyways.
After seeing him playing on his own, I sneaked out. He did cried a bit and he was hanging around the door cos he knows that I'm outside. Then I went back in to make sure that he follows his activities. During snack time, he pooed. After I cleaned him up, he had his milk. Then he is back to his cheerful self.
I tried my best not to interfere with his activities. Sitting quietly in corner. I hope the teachers don't mind. That is why it is good that he started to join the nursery during school holidays. They are not following the academic syllabus strictly yet. Meaning Jon and I can fool around in school for awhile.
Overall, I am happy with what he did in school. I don't expect him to be the star student. Not at this age. Very happy with the teachers as well. Experienced and patient. The class is very small. Well, tomorrow I'll send him alone. Rasa over-acting plak nak hantar dia gi school ramai-ramai.
Sorry, no pics yet cos was kinda busy getting him to school and was helping him adjust to school life whole morning. Tomorrow ya.
