Bangkok - Day 2

With no time to waste, we started our day early. Shida wanted to try another boat ride that served one of the many canals in Bangkok. I was game for anything and after last night's boat ride, our skills has been upgraded to intermediate level in boat riding. Yay! It was a crash-boom-bang experience. No we did NOT crash. It was more like, the boat came, passenger jumped-in, the boat left. All that in 1 to 2 minutes. They have a boat driver and a few boat conductors. The passengers inside the boat were obligated to pull up the canvas attached at the side of boat to keep the water from splashing in. It was very interesting to experience one of their "public transport". By the river, we spotted a some hustle and bustle at Bo-Bae pier (that was why we got down here) and unknowingly it was a wholesale market! Shopping again for us. We got pretty interesting pants for everyone.

Next, to the real deal... Chatuchak. It was really huge with sooooooo many interesting things to see and buy. We walk and buy from morning till afternoon until I found it painful even to stand! That was a sign for us to call it a day at Chatuchak. We will be back... tomorrow... kekekeke. By now, we were having trouble getting a metered-taxi. Most of the taxi drivers prefer to be "pau-ed" ~ meaning paying a fixed price. Can't help it cos we were at a famous tourist spot on a weekend afternoon. But Shida insist that we use the meter and I agreed. But we finally got one in the end... there are always honest people around.

Dinner was at a Muslim restaurant and then we head to MBK just to check it out. I manage to get a shirt and a t-shirt for Hubby. Then off to Suam Lum Night market again to get some stuffs we didn't manage to buy the night before. I got some nice dinner purses for 300 baht each. After walking a few rounds, we decided we got everything that we needed from the night market. Tried to catch a taxi back and again the taxi drivers "tiau-ke" (tarik harga) big time. Finally, I gave in and we got a taxi back to the hotel for 100 baht (normally, we only need to pay about 70-80 baht).

Bathed and got our massage again. With our body (and legs) relaxed, we spotted a Muslim stall opposite the hotel selling sago mango. Mmmm... the coconut milk was rich and thick. The mango was sweet. The glutinous rice was soft. Wished we could "ta-pau" back.

1 thots counted:

Aiyor..i sudah windu sama bangkok la..Thai massage, Sago mango, kerabu mango, shopping & shopping, tuk2..hehehe..
