One night in Bangkok...
Its a song from the 80s! Click on the song's excerpt to hear.
Back in the real Bangkok...
Our next last minute agenda took us to the Chao Phraya River. It was about 6pm and the boat ride ends about 7pm. Since we were so near (and yet so far), we just pushed our luck and never looked back... hehehe... so dramatic. It was really a ride of a lifetime.
Chao Phraya River
It was nearing dawn. The wind was strong and the waters of Chao Phraya River was a bit rough that day. Too rough for novice boat riders like us! Hahahaha. Well, it was quite scary at first. Armed with a map, Shida suggested that we take ride up the river and then another ride down to the last time before taking a taxi to Suam Lum Night Market. The jetty we had to get on was a floating jeti. After looking at us (the blur look), the "jetty guard" lady approached us, asking us where we want to go. When the boat came, we were getting ready to "jump" onto the boat and hope not to fall into the river. :) The sky was getting darker and the key buildings along the river were all lighted up. What a sight!

Traffic was a bit chaotic as it was a Friday night and people just got off from work. Next, to Suam Lum Night Market. One can find a lot of retro-themed house deco and furniture here. I bought some leather lady wallets and dinner purses here. And there are a few posh looking restaurants (like upper class restaurants in KL) and pubs with live bands. I guess this will appeal to the "mat salleh" tourists. I tried tom-yum sup and fried noodle which is only so-so at a food outlet under a tree (kampung style). My recommendation: don't waste your time eating here. Go to Suam Lum Night Market with a full stomach cos you definitely can have better food elsewhere. Wanna hang-out ala "mat salleh" style? Do it in KL la...
We took a taxi back to the hotel, bathed and head to the next door massage place. Mmmm... so good. Full body thai massage (60 mins) for 20 baht anyone?
