I had the "Shapes and colours" VCD by Brainy Baby for quite sometime but Jon doesn't seems to be interested in it until recently. We were just happy that he loves the VCD (can get up at 4am and ask for the VCD!) and he is learning about shapes and colours in record time. Of course the kids in the VCD were so cute. Coincidentally, I got to know that his school is teaching the kids about shapes and colours as well! I always believe in following what the teachers are teaching in school so that the kids will not be confused by too many syllabus (school and home) and its kinda doing revision at home. Sorry if I sound really kiasu. Well, I want to be part of Jon's learning process as well. It is easy to leave everything to the teachers but they can only do so much. At home, he is not pressured and have other means of studying i.e. VCDs.

As I was going through his VCD collections (yup.. a lot until I forgot what I got for him), he has a Barney "Shapes and colours" VCD too. Then one day, his poh-poh (my mom) gave him something and he had so much fun playing with them.

Cheap and easy to make. His poh-poh made quite a lot of shapes but he seems to like this 4. He can recognize most of the shapes and colours but he is a bit confused with pentagon and octagon. He kept pointing at the STOP sign and referred to it as pentagon. I guess "pen" is easier to say that "oct". Will continue to correct him.
