Jon's speech development is progressing well.

Example 1

We brought Jon out during the extended weekend (weekend + public holiday). Jon was not his usual self asked me to carry him.
Jon: Mummy, carry.
Me: Ok ok... Daddy carry you, ok? (Trying to pass the load to Daddy)
Jon: Don't want, I want mummy carry (Aiya...mati kudasai. Wondering how far I can walk while carrying a 17kg kid)

As much as I am delighted to see him talking in an almost full sentence, I fear that he would be able to express his "likes" and "dislikes" even more ie. having his way more often.

Example 2

He is helping me in some ways too. Sometimes when we are having our dinner outside, we'll be bombarded by people trying to sell things to patrons of the makan place.
Lottery ticket seller: Lottery, lottery...
Jon: No no no no (waving his hand)
Karipap seller: Yau mai karipap ma?
Jon: No no no no (waving his hand)
Toy/pen/dvd/whatever seller: Mau beli ....?
Jon: No no no no (waving his hand)

Now I have a tape recorder. Save my energy to say "No" to these people. Sorry, I know they are just trying to make a living but I don't like my meals to be disrupted.

BUT, Jon uses this phrase whenever I tried to feed him or offer him some food. Yup, I still HAVE problem feeding him. I wish he would say "yes yes yes" when it comes to food. I tried making his soup colourful and tasty. The same goes for the fried rice I prepared for him during the weekend. And he kinda liked it cos he ate a lot with the vegetables and ikan bilis that is in it. Hmmm... at least my effort not wasted.
